Intellectual Disability Policy

MOST COMMONLY USED MATERIALS

Here, we've highlighted archival collections and holdings at the JFK Library—starting with the most popular—that support research on intellectual disability policy during the Kennedy presidency.

Please note that intellectual and developmental disabilities were generally referred to at the time as "mental retardation," a term reflected in many of the finding aids (guides) to our holdings, as they represent the folder titles assigned by Kennedy administration officials.
